Veli-Pekka Kyllönen joins Metsä Spring to strengthen the Muoto™ project team

Metsä Group’s innovation company Metsä Spring has appointed Veli-Pekka Kyllönen as Project Director, effective from March 1, 2024. He begins to prepare the next phase of planning a possible first commercial production plant dedicated to producing Muoto™ packaging products. The possible plant would be located at Metsä Group’s Rauma site in Finland.

Muoto is a pure and safe three-dimensional packaging product made of wood fibres. Muoto products can be used in various applications, including the packaging of foods and consumer products. Metsä Spring and Valmet own and operate a unique demo plant for producing Muoto products in Äänekoski, Finland.

Veli-Pekka Kyllönen possesses extensive experience in industrial production and investment project management. He holds a M.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering from the Lappeenranta University of Technology. He joined Metsä Group in 2002.

He transitions to this role from another part of Metsä Group (Metsä Board) and he will report to Jarkko Tuominen.
